~Sermon

Pastor Dr Suankhanhau Gualnam stood up to present his Speech for the afternoon to the congregation. The lessons for today includes Lesson 6 & 7 (Galatians 2:1-10).

The topic were of “Defending the Gospel” & “ Planting the Gospel among the leaders”.

He explained about the origin of the Church and how the early church headquarter have evolve with the passage of time. The early church must have had already started in Jerusalem and later before the end of AD100 during the time of Apostle Paul, the head quarter of the church and its focus had moved to Antioch where the Gospel was shared widely to different places. And Later to Rome, then to England, then to the USA and other countries.

Introducing Lesson 6 - this lesson talks about how Paul, Barnabas & Titus went to the leaders in Jerusalem to inform to them that the message they preach is of the same gospel.

Paul, because he carries the truth with him, the enemy “satan” must have also taken every step to accuse and bring him down, later Paul even had to come to defend himself that which he has spoken is of the truth.

The early section of Lesson 6 talks about how Paul after a revelation he receives, he himself in order to defend his Message he preach, physically went to Jerusalem with Barnabas and Titus.

Paul brought up titus that though he was a greek, he was not even compelled to be circumcised. In fact, according to the Judaizer system, circumcision was a big thing that according to them there can even be no salvation without circumcision. Paul and the apostles denied this and it was settled at the council.

According to the message that paul brought, the Gospel needs no other works, that salvation shall be only receives faith alone. And Titus was one such an example that though he was a gentile he will go to Heaven even without circumcision.

In Verse 4, we see that the whole purpose of Paul’s visit to Jerusalem was because of those who had tried to influence the believers into false believing. However, Paul was very clear of this.

Verse 5, Paul made it clear that he will not give in for even a moment to this influences and systematic wrong believes.

In verses 6-10 we see that Paul was defending his message to the general masses, and those who are influential to them also means nothing to him as the message he preached was the truth. When the masses saw that paul was entrusted with the gospel by the same Spirit to the uncircumcised and peter to the circumcised they believed even more and understood. And when james, Cephas and John who accordingly seemed to be the pillars, understood and believe the message, they gave their right hand to Barnabas and Paul.

The Pastor concluded by a question saying Let us ponder upon what we must have added in the Gospel we shared today.  How many of us must have added/teach our idea rituals and rules instead of God’s.

Let us ponder upon these questions and seek God’s help and intervention that we will not add nor subtract anything from the Gospel Message, But walk in one Spirit.

~Moving ahead, Pastor invited Brother Zoulian Tangpua to present the song he sang earlier “ To God be the Glory”

~The service end Worship was led by the Worshipteam, “ Van inn ah I tend ding” was sung with the congregation.

~Closing prayer was held by Elder Khamkhanpau Guite.
