Worship Service Write-up

Sunday Worship Service | 14 April 2024 | 2:00 PM

Worship leader Paulalmuang started off the worship service by reading Ephesians 1:3 and committing the service with prayer. A soul-stirring praise and worship followed with collection of offerings by the ushers which was dedicated to the Lord by Elder T. Songzalian.

Led by Pastor Dr. SuankhanhauGualnam, a mass prayer was conducted wherein he highlighted the importance of self-introspection within ourselves as an individual, leader and as a community to weather out the disunity that has been prevailing among us. Pastor then dedicated baby Chingngaihmuan d/o David Damkhankhum and Ngaibiakmawi to the Lord by reading Proverbs 22:6. As requested by Pastor, the worship team led the congregation in singing ‘A Siangthou Pen Kiang.’ Important announcements were made after, such as :

  • Reminder to fill the Google form for seminar on ‘Nekzonna Dohkan Pulpit Nasepna.’
  • Sunday Worship Service to be held/divided according to Upa Bial (area).

Pastor started the sermon by reading Scripture portion from the book of James 4:14, Matthew 24:37 and Job 14:5-6. Preaching about the uncertainties of life and to ponder on what really matters, he made a comparative analysis of the times of Noah and our present times, stressing on the importance of what ought to be prioritized as our days are numbered. He went on preaching on this month’s theme ‘Nupa Kipumkhatna’ (Unity/ Oneness of husbands and wives), posing a rhetorical question to the congregation on why unity between husbands and wives is important and that this unity was often shattered by ego. Quoting a text from Galatians 3:28, he preached that men and women are equal in essence just as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are equal in essence. He reminded the congregation that each one is entrusted with different roles basing his point on Ephesians 5:22-25 that husbands were given headship by God and wives should submit to their husbands. At the same time, Pastor stressed the importance of husbands to love their wives just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it. He concluded his sermon by a word of prayer.

Elder Ngulminthang took up the time on behalf of the (B&PMSC) Building Motivation Department making a heartfelt appeal to the congregation on what contribution could be made by each individuals under the Church Building Department.

The worship service concluded with a hymn led by the worship team and a closing prayer by Elder ThangkhosiamTonsing.
